Solo for violin and string orchestra.
Grade 4-5. Approx. duration: seven and a half minutes.
Set includes a score, violin part and sixteen orchestra parts (6/4/3/2/1).
Under certain conditions crystals have a regular geometry. However, in their inner composition there are elements of symmetry, these being patterns that reproduce themselves indefinitely, even when only three dimensional planes are present. This same idea was adapted to the structure of Cristales, while at the same time maintaining compact relations and internal correspondence. Cristales is not an unnecessarily complex work; rather, being very close to the popular Latin American musical language, it features affable and transparent textures that allow for the brilliance and expressivity of the solo violin.
