A slow and mysterious prelude gives way to a vital and frantic dance that is interrupted every so often by lyrical and melodious passages. The great versatility of the clarinet, its wide register, as well as its large dynamic range inspired the composer to create the intense contrasts that characterize this miniature for clarinet quartet, which is at the same time full of light and shadow, tension and calm and a small dose of humor.
