Set includes a score and ten parts (flutes 7 and 8 transposed for alto flute).
The cycle of works designated as “Ceremonial” has as its objective the creation of a repertory of chamber music compositions for the various resident ensembles at the Conservatory of Music in Carabobo, Venezuela. Although each piece reveals a didactic, as well as an artistic character, they were conceived mainly for their pedagogic value; in other words, the essential purpose of these pieces is to promote ensemble skills while maintaining a coherent musical discourse. Ceremonial No. 2, for flute octet, is based on simple structures that begin superimposing themselves by use of a fractal technique. The subtitle of the work alludes to the sentimental characteristics that are implied throughout the composition. The work is dedicated to the Australian composer Amanda Cole.
