Set consists of a score, piano/vocal score and six parts.
This work is based on the traditional texts of the indigenous Pemon, who live in the “Gran Sabana” region of southeastern Venezuela. In his setting, Pérez Valero uses Sprechgesang, parlato, murmuring and other vocal devices in order to capture the mysticism of these texts, which are further enhanced by a colorful and constantly shifting instrumental environment. Dedicated to the Cayambis Sinfonietta, the work is approximately eleven minutes long.
